Collective signatures have been collected by putting various demands to be included in the proposed Federal Civil Service Act. In conjunction with the Gazetted Staff Protection Campaign, the signatures collected including the common demands of all positions working at the same level have been submitted to the State Order and Good Governance Committee.
Prakash Bhattarai, the Central Secretary of Nepal Civil Servants Union, said that the signature campaign has been launched to demand career development, service security and professional interests and so far more than 7200 employees have been signed and this number will increase as the signature campaign is ongoing.
Employees who have completed five years of service should be promoted one level and employees who have served for 10 years should be promoted one level or two levels.
