Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the current election system should be changed. Kirati and Limbuwan Rashtriya Mukti Morcha, during the joint national conference of Nepal in Dharan on Sunday, said that the current election system is not in favor of the people but of the money holders.
He said that constitutional amendment is indispensable to change this system and adopt the presidential system and people-oriented proportional election system.
'After coming to the peace process, a serious introspection has been done in the central committee meeting with the conclusion that we were far away from the few people,' he said, 'Now we are on a campaign to improve relations with the people of all oppressed classes, castes, genders and regions of the country,' said Chairman Dahal .
Stating that the Maoist center tried to work in favor of the country and the people while under the leadership of the government, he said that under the inclusive infrastructure development campaign, he started the construction of Madhyapahari Lokmarg, Hulaki Marg and North-South Corridors . Similarly, when the situation of rebellion in Madhes was created with the earthquake, he said that the task of including Madhes and taking them to elections and ending load shedding was done under his own leadership.
Mentioning that a ruthless campaign was initiated in favor of good governance against corruption during the third term of the government Chairman Dahal said, 'I had instructed the chief of the police who was assigned to the investigation to not leave me alone if the needle of the investigation appeared against me during the investigation.
