Even though the governor of the National Bank has been vacant for a month now, the ruling parties are busy with strategies to confuse and confuse each other. Kamu Governor Neelam Dhungana has not accepted the resignation of Executive Director Gunakar Bhatt and the Congress-UML is looking for an alternative. The Congress, which got the 'part' of the governor, has started an internal discussion to decide the name.

In the meeting of the party officials and ex-officers held at the residence of Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Friday afternoon, an agreement was reached to finalize the process of appointing the governor.

Chairman Deuba has asked for possible names from the top leaders, soon a name will be submitted to the Prime Minister, said a Congress leader who participated in the officials meeting.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Congress Chairman Deuba, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Vishnu Paudel, Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar, Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba and Prime Minister's advisor Agni Kharel had a discussion on Thursday evening as well. In the meeting, Prime Minister Oli asked Deuba to give an alternative name as "Dhungana did not accept his resignation".

The discussion on the alternative started after the Prime Minister believed that the person the Congress wanted would be made the governor. The leader who participated in the meeting said, "The chairman has asked the leaders for names, he will proceed with the process of appointing the governor in a transparent manner, you have asked me to suggest a name."

The home minister had informed officials that the appointment of the governor was delayed due to the non-acceptance of Rashtra Bank's executive director Bhatt's resignation. The delay in the appointment of the governor was discussed in the officers' meeting. "Everyone was curious about the reason for the delay," Joint Minister Jeevan Pariyar said, "The governor should be appointed soon."
