Kavita Upreti, deputy head of Khairhani municipality, who visited the park with a team of executive members and employees last Saturday, saw around 35 one-horned rhinos. Not only did he see eight rhinos in one grassland, he also had the opportunity to see a tiger for sure.

Visitors to Chitwan National Park and community forests in the central region are excited to see rare wild animals such as one-horned rhinoceros, tigers, and bears.

Upreti said that 19 executive members and 12 employees of Khairhani Municipality had the opportunity to see a large number of rhinos and tigers at the same time. On our way back, we also saw a tiger and a bear,' she said.

Som Tamang, who has been driving a jeep carrying tourists inside the park, says that the tourists who have been in one or the other jeep every day for a month have had the opportunity to see a tiger . He said,  'When you reach Tiger Tops and return, you can see more than 30 rhinos .'

32 jeeps run inside the park from Sauraha alone. Along with this, they enter the jeep park of hotels from Kasara, Meghauli, Madi and Nawalparasi. Tamang said that due to the heat between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m., when the rhinos enter the pond to play, they are less visible, but at other times, rhinos can easily be seen in different places of the park.

Rhinos have started to be seen easily even in the community forest . Dipendra Khatiwada, President of United Elephant Management Cooperative, which manages private elephants in Sauraha, says that this is the right time to see this rare wild animal. He says that tourists riding elephants in the central community forest easily see rhinos. "In other times, you have to wait for months to see a tiger, but now tourists can easily see a tiger in a week at most," he said.

Assistant conservation officer Shant Bahadur Magar, who has been looking at Sauraha in the eastern sector of Chitwan National Park, says that rhinos can be easily seen during summer when they come to water ponds and wetlands. He says that due to the management of grasslands, wild animals including tigers are easily seen.

At some other times, tourists have to go around the park all day without being able to see the one-horned rhinoceros, but now, since they can easily see the wild animals, the number of jeep and elephant safaris and boat trips in the park and community forest has increased, according to business people. This park is a major safari destination for tourists in Nepal. Tourists from third countries, SAARC and Nepal come here to see rare wild animals like tigers and rhinos.
