Maoist's feet on the road, eyes on power

While the main opposition party Maoist Center's Hulaki Highway-centered Terai-Madhes Awakening campaign is going on, President Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that if the Congress is ready to form a new alliance, it will support it unconditionally. Although his statement caused waves in Nepal's politics, it did not take long to calm down.

Dahal informally threw the card of a new alliance based on the dispute between the Congress-UML in political appointments including the governor of Nepal Rastra Bank. But it will not bring down the government,  It worked to erase doubts within the ruling coalition.

After an agreement was reached between Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba on political appointments, the rumors of the government collapsing started to circulate. An informal dialogue between Congress Chairman Deuba and Maoist Chairman Dahal in the second week of March became the basis for Dahal's bid change.

According to Khumaltar sources, Deuba and Dahal had two conversations at that time. After Deuba told Dahal that it would be difficult to get along for a long time due to Prime Minister Oli's working style, it was suspected that he was going to put the government in crisis. But Oli went ahead and discussed with Deuba to remove that suspicion.

In the second week of February, when the Terai Madhes-centered campaign from Jhapa reached Chitwan, Dahal had been saying that he would remain in the opposition until 084 and campaign with the people. But after the conversation with Deuba, he made it public through a television interview that he is ready to unconditionally support the Congress if it is ready to form a new alliance.

Not only did the UML become suspicious of his statement, Prime Minister Oli had a long discussion with Deuba to remove the suspicion. The Terai Madhes Awakening campaign started by the Maoists on February 12 from Jhapa and ended in Kanchanpur on April 18, the Maoists' lust for power had already germinated.

Maoist's feet on the road, eyes on power

The problem of political appointments between the Congress and UML was due to the growth of lust for power. Oli's operational dissatisfaction was . After the doubt between the Congress-UML was removed, the Maoists have decided to start another political campaign focusing on the central hilly highway from May 2.

During this period, according to the statements of leaders including Chairman Dahal and Deputy Secretary General Varshman Pun, it seems that the Maoist's focus is on power even though it has its feet on the streets as an opposition. Deputy Secretary General Shakti Basnet points out that the government is likely to collapse as the political situation is developing accordingly.

'There are many problems within the alliance . It is being analyzed that the government will not last for a long time because of those problems. In response to the question, Basnet says, "We are not saying that the government will fall to come to power."

Maoist Chairman Dahal, who has been claiming that the Oli government will collapse after the start of the new year, now says that he will not use magic to change the government. Speaking to reporters at Parliament House New Baneshwar on Monday, he claimed that his party's focus is not on power.

He mentioned that the party will soon start the Madhyapahari Lokmarg campaign and claimed that it is not focused on power. He said, "Now our focus is not on forming a government". Our focus is on the people. And we are going towards Madhyapahari Lokmarg Abhiyan. If you want to use magic, it will work, but now we are not in favor of using it.'

What did Dahal say when ?

May 18 Partynikat trade union program in Kathmandu said that they can form a government together with the Congress by cutting their own expression and go to the movement. "You should start preparing for the movement." We may have to go to a big movement soon," he said. "There is no interest in joining the government with the Congress and UML. We are fine with the people.'

Similarly, Chairman Dahal said that the government will collapse due to its own reasons at the CPN Foundation Day special program held at the party central office on May 9. "Congress-UML alliance and the government led by Oli will collapse due to its own reasons as it is unnatural and unconstitutional," he said, "The government is protecting the corrupt rather than working for the people." Mentioning that he will not join the government until 2084, he said that he will not make mistakes by joining the government again. Claiming that the campaign in politics is increasing people's trust in the Maoists, he said that he is not paying attention to his power.

Maoist's feet on the road, eyes on power

'Now we have seen the number of thousands of people who are coming emotionally that once again their trust is in the Maoist center, in the Maoist leadership and in Prachanda,' he said, 'We have realized more responsibility . A firmness has been born in our decision not to go to government till 084 . It may seem that the government has been in a hurry. Absolutely not .'

He argued that his government fell due to not making an agreement for good governance. In Kapilvastu on Baisakh 5, he claimed that the Oli government would collapse because it could not bear its own burden. "The government will collapse because it cannot bear its own burden," he claimed, "Congress-UML has benefited from being carried by the Maoists." Now we will not make a mistake by carrying someone.'

When he reached his home district Chitwan on Chait 31, 2081, he claimed that a new government would be formed in the new year. The situation is becoming such that this government is not comfortable going forward. Because of that there is any possibility .'

Before that, in an interview given to Image Television on Chait 28, Dahal had said that he would support the government if it is led by the Congress. "The next course is that the Nepali Congress and the fellow travelers of the peace agreement come together and seek agreement. The Nepali Congress should give an alternative for the immediate issue. The state of crisis of the country has appeared. "Even as the largest party, even as the party that signed the peace agreement, the Nepali Congress should dare to resolve it," he said.

Before that, on January 24, in a special time address in the House of Representatives, Dahal had said that he would not engage in power play. I see that the friends of the alliance are still afraid that the power play will be from the Maoists. We have returned to the people. We do not walk to tip this government. But it is going to rot and fall,'' he said, 'so, now you don't have to match each other's chairs because of our fear.' Stability is an alliance made by pushing the stick, stability. You don't need to keep singing the raga of power transfer every day because of fear of us, you don't need to keep swearing that you will leave Dharadharma.'

Dahal also wished the Congress-UML alliance to reach 084.  On January 4, Dahal said that the government is losing its justification in Parliament House New Baneshwar. He claimed that the work of the government is losing its justification as it has increased frustration.

"General disappointment and dissatisfaction with the government's activities is increasing". The justification of the government is losing," he said, "The way the government was formed, it was formed in an unnatural manner. Made in an opaque manner . It has been made contrary to the spirit and spirit of the constitution.'
