11 Nepalis trapped in forced labor in Myanmar's Mewari have been rescued. In which there is one woman and 10 men. They were lured into online scamming by brokers.
They were rescued by the Nepali Embassy in Bangkok with the help of the Thai government. They were brought to Thailand through Tak Immigration Office Mesot. According to the embassy, they were returned to Nepal on May 24.
"Nepal Government requests again to all those related to the embassy not to go for foreign employment only after obtaining a labor permit according to the standards set by the government and not to come to work abroad in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand in order to earn more money quickly," said the statement issued by the embassy.
