The funeral of CPN (UML) leader and progressive writer Pradeep Nepal has been held. His mortal remains were cremated in the electric crematorium at Pashupati this evening.
Before that, CPN (UML) Vice-Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Bishnu Paudel, Senior Vice-President Ishwar Pokharel, Surendra Prasad Pandey, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, CPN (Unified Socialist) President Madhav Kumar Nepal, CPN (Malay) General Secretary CP Mainali, former Deputy Prime Minister Vamdev Gautam and other leaders visited Pashupati and paid their respects to him.
A large number of officials, parliamentarians, former ministers, leaders and workers, well-wishers and relatives of UML and United Socialists came to Pashupati to pay their respects to Nepal, who are also former members of the UML standing committee.
He has been suffering from Parkinson's problems for a long time and was admitted to Norvik International Hospital in Thapathali for treatment after contracting pneumonia a few days ago.
