The protest of UML Dhanusha leaders-activists who are angry about the prolongation of the election process to select the district leadership and the addition and reduction of names in the voter list, has increased the tension in Janakpur on Tuesday. Preparations were made to start the election from 8 am on Tuesday at the Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Mithila Culture Center in Janakpur.

It was decided to vote as the working committee of UML Dhanusha could not be elected by consensus. Voters who came to vote in large numbers in the morning were told that the voting would start only at 10 o'clock as they were not prepared.

Since then, Lakshminarayan Yadav's party, which has nominated UML as the president of Dhanusha, staged a sit-in at Nidhi Bhawan demanding correction of additions and reductions in the voter list. UML leader Raghuvir Mahaseth party has nominated Bhola Yadav as the president in Dhanusha convention. Lakshminarayan is the candidate of leader Umashankar Aragaria party .

There has been a dispute between these two parties regarding the convention. Tables, chairs, computers used by the election committee were vandalized on Tuesday after the controversy escalated.
