The members of the National Assembly drew the attention of the government on various development and construction issues. In the National Assembly meeting held on Monday, the members drew the attention of the government to the current issues. Nepali Congress MP Krishna Bahadur Rokaye drew the government's attention to the fact that a bridge has not been constructed on the Bheri River in Jajarkot under the National Pride Project Madhyapahari Lokmarg.
He demanded an answer from the concerned ministry about how long the construction of the bridge over the said river would take. He mentioned that 6 months have passed since the tender request process was supposed to start and asked when the construction process will start.
He said, 'Madhyapahari Lokmarg is a project of Nepal's national pride. This project aims to expand the transport network in 26 districts of East-West. However, the project has not been able to take off as the road bridge has not yet been constructed across the Bheri river connecting Mantavir and Rukum, Chowjar and Kudu in Jajarkot. 6 months have passed since the tender of the bridge was supposed to be done soon. It is said that the Ministry of Finance could not give consent for resource assurance. What is its truth? How many reasons have not been tendered and when? I strongly demand an answer through the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.
CPN (Unified Socialist) MP Ghanshyam Rizal said that the government is indifferent to the operation of the Lamabagar border crossing in Dolakha connecting Nepal and China. He drew the government's attention to the fact that there is a significant increase in revenue from tourism and import-export, and that the border should be operated and infrastructure built.
He said, 'Lamabagar crossing in Dolakha district is one of the old trade crossings between Nepal and China. In the past, there used to be trade between Nepal and China through this border. Nepal used to collect considerable revenue. Customs and immigration offices were established in the 2050s with the aim of doing tri-national trade through the same border. The checkpoint has not been operational since 2052 citing security reasons. The indifference shown by the government is reprehensible even when Nepal can get significant benefits through import-export and tourism. Therefore, I would like to draw the attention of the government to connect the remaining 3 kilometers of road and to operate the Nepal-China-India border. He said that when the roads were demolished all at once for construction, the passengers were suffering. She demanded the reason why the road could not be constructed even after extending the deadline time and time again.
She said, 'Many citizens have to suffer because the Kathmandu-Narayanghat-Butwal road has been blocked for a long time. Narayanghat-Butwal distance is only two-three hours. But now it takes 15 to 20 hours. What is the reason why the construction of this road, which was undertaken by a Chinese company, could not be completed even after the deadline was extended twice?
Bishnu Bahadur Bishwakarma, Member of Parliament of the Maoist Center, drew the attention of the government to immediately arrest former King Gyanendra Shah for the incident of 15th March and investigate it. He objected that the government could not arrest the chief commander Shah even though the assistant commanders of the incident were in jail. He said that Shah was also the mastermind behind the Darbar massacre and said that Shah should be arrested and his assets should be investigated.
He said, "The country has been saddened by the violence that happened on 15th of Chait." The assistant commanders have been arrested, but the main commander has not been caught. The chief commander is Gyanendra Shah, the main hero of the regression. Even now, the government has not been able to catch Gyanendra Shah. It is widely discussed that he is also the main planner of the Darbar massacre. Gyanendra Shah should be arrested and the assets should also be investigated.
