The highest number of foreign tourists have entered Nepal in the month of April 2025.
According to the data provided by the Nepal Tourism Board, 16,490 foreign tourists came to Nepal in the month of April alone. The board has mentioned that a record has been set in the arrival of foreign tourists in Nepal's tourism in the month of April.
In April, 25 thousand 933 tourists from India, 10 thousand 53 from America, 9 thousand 37 from China and 6 thousand 838 from United Kingdom entered Nepal. Looking at the latest figures, Indian and Chinese tourists have not been able to increase. According to the
board, there has been an increase in foreign tourist arrivals by 106.5 percent compared to 2019. Before the corona epidemic, the highest number of foreign tourists came to Nepal in the month of April 2019, one lakh nine thousand 399. In April 2024, 111,376 foreign tourists came to Nepal, while in April 2023, 98,773 tourists entered Nepal. "We have officially reached 106.5 percent of the pre-pandemic level, indicating a strong 'recovery' and growing global interest in Nepal," the board noted. Deepakraj Joshi, chief executive officer of the
board, said that the arrival of tourists in the month of April is encouraging. "This increase is proof of Nepal's permanent attraction and tourism culture," he said. According to
board, 4 lakh 15 thousand 48 tourists have entered Nepal during four months of the year (January-April). 79 thousand 991 foreign tourists came to Nepal in January, 96 thousand 880 in February and 121 thousand 800 in March.
