The government has adopted a policy to restructure the Urban Development Fund in the next fiscal year 2082/83.

Presenting the policy and program for the coming fiscal year 2082/83 in the Joint House of Parliament today, President Ramchandra Paudel informed that the Urban Development Fund will be restructured.

'To mobilize more capital for urban infrastructure, the city development fund will be restructured and its ownership will be distributed among the federation, state, local level and financial institutions,' he said, 'managed housing and land development programs will be carried out through housing companies.'

The goal of river protection and other environmental improvement works has been taken to make the Kathmandu Valley a place with an orderly and clean environment. There is a policy under the Ministry of Urban Development to develop Bhrikutimandap area in the center of Kathmandu as an international meeting, conference, exhibition center and amusement park.
