The government is going to adopt a foreign policy based on the principle of 'friendship with all, enmity with none'. President Ramchandra Paudel, while presenting the government's policies and programs in Parliament on Friday, announced that 'friendship with all, enmity with none' will be the basic basis of foreign policy.
"Friendly relations with neighboring friendly countries will be deepened and relations based on mutual benefits and respect will be established," it is said in the government's policy and program. "Nepal's role in the United Nations and multilateral platforms will be made more effective and strengthened and interests will be promoted."
Foreign Policy 2077 has promoted the same principle. In order to protect national interests, it is also mentioned in the policy and program that an independent foreign policy will be adopted based on the principles of the United Nations, principles of independence, international law and world peace.
The goal is to make regional cooperation meaningful and effective in the interests of Nepal through regional cooperation organizations affiliated to Nepal. Similarly, economic diplomacy programs will be conducted effectively inside and outside the country by establishing economic diplomacy as an important tool for aid, investment, labor market, tourism and trade promotion.
The government has also taken a policy to enhance the country's identity and respect at the international level through public and cultural diplomacy that utilizes the capabilities and networks of non-resident Nepalis.
