It has been confirmed that the body found on the banks of the Thames River in London last Tuesday is that of a Nepali student. The London Metropolitan (Metropolitan) Police found the body of the student on the banks of the River Thames. However, the body could not be identified.
According to the Nepali Embassy in London, the police confirmed that the dead body was that of a Nepali student, Sushan Oli, after taking a fingerprint (thumb print record) from Nepal.
20-year-old Oli of Rukum Paschim Musikot Municipality-12, who is preparing to study the second year of Bachelors in Business Management and Leadership Course at Coventry University in the UK, was without a condom since April 21 (Baishak 8). The embassy was informed about it on the 23rd. During the investigation, the police found Oli's body along with his mobile phone, wallet, room key, passport and other things near the bridge over the river Thames near Waterloo in London. Then, during the police investigation, he went to the house near Dagenham Heathway where he lived. After that, the police contacted the Nepali student studying at Coventry University and started further investigation.
Biplav Khadka, the president of the UK Nepali Independent Student Association studying at Coventry University, said that the London Metropolitan Police had identified Oli's body during the investigation. Based on the information we gave, the police found a dead body a few days ago. Identification was not possible. The identification was revealed after matching the finger prints sent from Nepal, he said. Police found the body on Tuesday and kept it in a mortuary in London. According to him, the police have completed the identification process. He said that since the disappearance of the student, he has been continuously communicating with the Nepali Embassy in London and his family members in Nepal.
According to Bipin Duwadi, spokesperson of the embassy and head of the deputy mission, the family has been informed about the investigation and developments so far and the police have started the post-mortem process. Detailed details will come after the post-mortem. His mobile phone, documents, wallet were found in the same place, CCTV footage, call details, and the preliminary investigation of the police revealed that the death is not suspicious, he said. According to him, after the post-mortem, the family will decide whether to bring the body to Nepal or perform the last rites in Britain. He said that it may take some time to complete the investigation process.
