The announcement of the unification of Janmat and Civil Liberation Party has been postponed. After the arrest of Resham Choudhary, the guardian of Civil Liberation Party (Naupa), Chairman of Public Opinion CK Raut informed that the unification announcement program has been postponed.
Raut said, 'Reshamji has been arrested by the police, so we have postponed it. We condemn this incident. Due to this today's integration program has been postponed and all leaders and workers have been asked to go to their respective homes. We will give another notice soon after meeting.'
The two parties were preparing to announce unity on Wednesday. For this, leaders and activists from all over the country gathered at Pragya Pratishthan. After Choudhary's arrest, leaders and workers raised slogans for a while at Pragya Complex.
Security personnel in plain clothes reached Chaudhary and arrested him at Pragya Bhawan. SP Apilraj Bohora of Kathmandu Police Complex said that the order of the Supreme Court has been implemented. Chaudhary has been taken to Dillibazar jail and has been handed over, the police said. In August 2072, due to the incident in Tikapur, Chaudhary was sentenced to life imprisonment by the court. However, he was released from Dillibazar Jail on the basis of amnesty granted by the government on the occasion of Republic Day on 15th June 2080.
According to police sources, he was arrested after the Supreme Court overturned the verdict of amnesty.
In a similar case, the full bench of the Supreme Court ordered the immediate cancellation of the imprisonment imposed by President Ramchandra Paudel on Regal Yogprasad Dhakal. Also, the bench also ordered Regal to be re-arrested and sent to prison.
