Three people were killed and two were injured when a jeep that was going to extinguish a forest fire met with an accident in Palpa's Siddeshwar on Sunday night.

36-year-old Dipendra Budhamgar, 31-year-old Chetnarayan Vick (goldsmith) and 23-year-old Janak Regami Magar died in an accident while going to extinguish a fire in Salleri Pakhapani community forest at Asare of Siddeshwar, Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality-1.

Budhamgar and Sunar died on the spot, while Regmi died while taking Tansen to Palpa headquarter for treatment, Ward President Som Bahadur Darlami informed. 27-year-old Ranjan Reshmi Magar and 23-year-old Sonu (Saroj) Budha were injured in the jeep numbered Lu 1 J 2377.

Among the injured, Magar is in serious condition, according to the Palpa District Police Office. The injured are being treated at the Mission Hospital in Tansen. Locals have informed that the jeep that crashed fell nearly 150 meters from the road.

The jeep met with an accident while going to Pokhara through the best mine. In the preliminary investigation, it was seen that the brake failed on the uphill and the accident occurred. And the police said that further investigation of the incident is underway.
