Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has said that we should not endanger ourselves by spoiling the nature. Speaking at a program organized by the Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality to commemorate the earthquake of 2072, the Home Minister said that if the laws of nature are broken by human intention, then he himself will be at risk.
He pointed out the need to keep the environment clean and said that the central, state and local governments should work together to reduce disasters.
The Home Minister said, 'Today is a day to remember the pains and sufferings of the past and to express our commitment to be safe from such calamities in the future. The government is not just the prime minister and the ministers but the entire citizen group. We are all connected to the state in one way or another. Therefore, everyone should play a role in disaster management together.'
He added, "Nature runs by rules, man by intention." If humans break the law of nature with their own intention, then that same intention will cause trouble for themselves. So let's keep the environment clean, don't spoil the nature, don't put yourself at risk by spoiling the nature.'
The Home Minister said that we should think seriously about disaster risk reduction, response, re-establishment and reconstruction. He said, "The pain of the past teaches us to be alert and prepared for the future." Today, let us all make a firm commitment to reduce the risk of disaster, manage the situation and mobilize the entire government mechanism.
The Home Minister said that Nepal is in a very risky geography and that anything can happen at any time and we should be alert. He mentioned that although natural disasters other than earthquakes can be predicted, the probability of an earthquake cannot be predicted in advance.
