Dahal said to the MPs - 'This government will collapse due to its own reasons. There will be more after Deubaji's return.
The leader of the main opposition party and Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the new alliance will be discussed after Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba returns to the country. Deuba has gone to Bangkok, Thailand for his health treatment. Chairman Dahal said that there was a conversation on the telephone when Deuba went to Thailand and that there will be more talks after he returns.
Chairman Dahal briefed the MPs on current political developments in the meeting of the parliamentary party of the party held at Singhdarbar on Thursday. In that sequence, Dahal revealed that his conversation took place before Deuba went to Bangkok for treatment. In the
meeting, Dahal said that he was not in favor of the Maoist joining the government immediately, but he could stay outside and help the Congress-led government. "We are not in favor of going to the government immediately," MP Madhav Sapkota said, quoting Dahal's statement, "It has been said that we will talk after Deubaji returns." In the
meeting, President Dahal said that the current government is collapsing because of its own reasons. He said that the Oli government is in crisis due to the appointment of the governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, the teachers' movement, and dissatisfaction within the Congress.
"When the nation is in crisis, there is no situation to sit by and watch . We have an opportunity and a challenge," said Dahal, "The government collapses due to its own reasons." In a conversation between Deuba and Dahal a few days ago, Deuba expressed his displeasure with the working style of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. According to
sources, at that time, Dahal said that Maoists would help him if he was ready to break the alliance with UML. Dahal, while giving an interview to Image Television, said that if Deuba went ahead with forming a new alliance, he would help him whether he went to the government or not. Dahal stepped down from the government after the Congress-UML alliance was formed last June.
After the appointment of the governor of Nepal Rastra Bank between the Congress and the UML, there are doubts about the future of the government. Despite the agreement between Deuba and Oli to appoint Governor Gunakar Bhattarai, the Prime Minister has not proceeded with the appointment process.
Maoist Vice President and Spokesperson Agni Sapkota said that the government is in crisis as dissatisfaction is growing within the Congress, the main party of the alliance. "It is seen that the government is in crisis due to various developments," he said.
Similarly, the meeting of the Maoist parliamentary party has decided to put pressure on the government to advance the education, civil service, and police bills. Chief Whip Hitraj Pandel said that it was decided to effectively raise the matter on behalf of the opposition party in the Parliament. "It has been decided to take the initiative to pass the Civil Bill and the Education Bill," he said.
The Maoists are going to raise the issue of the practice of getting the opposition from the Public Accounts Committee. Dahal attended the program addressed by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on the first day of the budget session starting on Friday. Dahal has reached Barpak to participate in the event marking the 10th anniversary of the Gorkha earthquake.
"The government recommended calling a meeting of the Parliament without coordinating with us". On the day the meeting started, the Prime Minister gave an address and the information was given late," Chief Whip Pandey said, "Speaker Dahal should not be invited to participate in the Parliament's Friday meeting."
