Employees convicted of corruption will no longer receive pension. In the meeting of the State Order and Good Governance Committee under the House of Representatives on Wednesday, the Chairman of the Committee Ramhari Khatiwada informed that there was an agreement on the provision in the Federal Civil Bill.

According to him, it has been agreed that the pensioners will not get pension if they are found guilty of corruption, government or public corruption, crimes against the state, drug dealing, money laundering, antiquities sale, human trafficking, body hostage, coercion, polygamy or other criminal crimes that appear to be immoral.

Earlier, the retired government employee who was confirmed for corruption was getting pension.

Section 46 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 provides that cases can be prosecuted against ex-government employees who are found to have committed corruption while in office.

But there is no mention of what will happen to retired employees.
