Education, Science and Technology Minister Vidya Bhattarai has resigned.

A member of the Prime Minister's Secretariat informed Kantipur that he had submitted his resignation after meeting Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Monday.

Teachers have been continuing their demonstration in Kathmandu since March 20, demanding the release of the School Education Act. Despite discussions with the Minister of Education, the Speaker, and the Prime Minister, the resignation of the Education Minister has come in the absence of a conclusion.

The stand of the teachers is that the protest will continue until the school education law is released.
