Election Commission updating voter roll

The Election Commission has requested all stakeholders and voters to make the electoral roll update program a success. The commission has also asked to submit an application online or contact the relevant election office for that program.

Nita Pokharel Aryal, spokesperson of the Commission, informed that the update program is being conducted according to the Electoral Roll Update Procedure, 2081 approved by the Election Commission.

According to the said program, the details of the citizens who have reached the age of 18 by the end of March will be updated from May 1st. The process has started. The initial list of voters is also published on the Commission's website www.election.gov.np  She informed that the final voter list will be published at the end of Baisakh after the updating work is completed. According to the

commission, if there is a mistake in the initial list published for the purpose of updating the voter list, it can be given if there is a need to file a complaint against a person. Similarly, the commission said that if the name is included in more than one place and to remove the name of those who have died and renounced their citizenship from the voter list, they can submit an application to the relevant election office or online from May 7th to 14th.

The Commission has clarified that new name registration and updating work will continue during this period as well.
