Leaders of the Dalit community staged a dharna at Maitighar Mandla demanding that the 'Neglected, Oppressed and Dalit Class Upliftment Development Committee' should be run.
Under the leadership of Nepal Backward Classes (OBC) Federation, Dalit community leaders staged a sit-in demanding that 'Backward Community (OVC) Upliftment Development Committee' and 'Wadi Community Upliftment Development Committee' should be established as soon as possible.
Gajendra Thakur, the president of the federation, said that the three vacant positions in the development committee should be filled as soon as possible. Demanded that officials should be appointed. He said that the employees who have been working for a long time in all three development committees should be re-appointed.
The federation has requested the government to implement the (OBC) reservation as soon as possible after the recommendation made by the National Inclusion Commission for listing the names of the backward classes has been passed by the cabinet, and to implement the agreement between the government and the Nepal Backward Classes (OBC) Federation, Dalit Association and the plaintiff community.
