The top leadership of the three major parties has pledged to stand united for the defense of the federal democratic republic.
In a meeting called by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Baluwatar on Saturday evening with Congress Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba and Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is also the leader of the main opposition party, the RPP discussed the planned demonstration on Sunday.
The leaders have also objected that the RPP is trying to go against the constitution and the law by publicly proclaiming to break the prohibition order.
"The conclusion of the discussion between the three leaders in Baluwatar is a common conclusion that we stand united in favor of the federal democratic republic, not another republic, a public protest movement against democracy and the constitution". The leaders have a common understanding that political instability is a source of discord,'' said the Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar, who participated in the meeting. Home Minister Agni Kharel, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Human Rights and Transitional Justice, also participated. In the
discussion, consultant Kharel said that the work of the recommendation committee formed for the selection of officials in the two commissions related to transitional justice is to provide general information.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a statement on Saturday targeting the demonstration of RPP and said that it has drawn serious attention to the public news and expressions that the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party will break the designated prohibited area.
House has appealed to the general public not to engage in any chaotic, provocative and illegal activities that encourage the violation of the constitution and law and spread chaos in the society, anyone who engages in such activities will be punished according to the law.
