On Friday, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated the 6-lane road of the east-west highway, which was extended to 6 lanes, passing through Bharatpur Metropolitan City, but was said to be completed within 27 months when the foundation stone was laid.
Oli also laid the foundation stone for the extension of the 6 km stretch from Narayangadh Pulchok to Bharatpur Gondrang when he was the prime minister.
He laid the foundation stone in a program organized under the guise of expansion of Bharatpur Airport on January 17, 2077. On Friday, the inauguration was also held at the same place. At the time of inauguration, the goal was set to be completed within 27 months, but the work was barely completed at the end of last December.
Narayan Prasad Lamichhane, Head of Bharatpur Division Road Office, said that it took 47 months due to problems including the Corona epidemic. He informed that the expansion work has been completed at a cost of 1.13 billion rupees.
