The police have started an investigation into the sexual abuse offense against the former chief of Madhes state, Rajesh Jha (Ahiraj). Jha was appointed as the head of the province of Madhesh on February 7, 2077.

Spokesman and SP Apilraj Bohra of Kathmandu police complex said that women's cell has started investigation on her. He said, 'He was investigated based on a criminal complaint.'

 Until he became the head of Madhesh province, he was involved in the publishing of the Madheshwani weekly newspaper. Jha was appointed as the provincial head of Madhesh after relieving the state chief Tilak Periyar. Less than 6 months into his tenure, Jha was relieved of his post by the government led by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
