One year of disasters: 745 people died in more than 8 thousand incidents

In the last one year, 745 people have died in disasters. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, eight thousand 861 disaster incidents occurred in one year and 745 people died in those incidents.

Authority spokesperson Ram Bahadur KC informed that 69 people went missing and 1,702 people were injured in that incident. According to him, 18 thousand 991 households have been affected by the disaster in one year. The authority said that there was a total financial loss of three billion 130 million rupees. 

In which event, how much human damage?

351 people have lost their lives due to landslides. After that, 97 people died due to flood, 78 due to lightning and 77 due to mudslide, according to the authority. Eight people died due to heavy rains, 43 people died from animal attacks, 24 people died from lake accidents, 23 people died from air accidents, and 19 people died from snake bites. 

Likewise, 10 people have died due to fire, seven due to storm, one due to boat capsizing and seven due to various other reasons. 48 people have gone missing due to landslides, 18 due to floods and three due to avalanches. 

Most fire incidents

Studying the number of disaster incidents, the most fire incidents have occurred this year. According to statistics from May 1, 2081 to Chait 29, there were only four thousand 145 fire incidents. Since then, there have been 1,955 fires and 1,500 landslides. 

Similarly, there have been 418 incidents of floods, 568 of heavy rains, 418 of lightning, 477 of animal attacks, and 111 of lakes. According to the details released by the authority, there were two air accidents, 84 snakebites, 349 storms, one boat capsize, six avalanches, 74 earthquakes, one hail and seven other disasters.
