Investigation of Prasai for Offenses Against the State

The police have launched an investigation into the crime against the state against Durga Prasai, the commander of the violent demonstration by Rajawadi in Tinkune area of ​​Kathmandu. Prasai, who was arrested on Thursday in Assam, India, was brought to Kathmandu on Friday and the police started investigation.

District Court Kathmandu has given 12 days to the police to detain him and investigate. 

Prasain violated the prohibition order by driving a car and hitting the police during a demonstration by Rajawadi on 15 Chait in Tinkunke area. He also incited the mob to become violent. After that, Prasai and his personal bodyguard Deepak Khadka, who had arrived in Assam, India and stayed in the house of a Nepali speaker, were detained by the Special Bureau of Police on Thursday. They were brought to Kathmandu by ship from Bhadrapur in Jhapa on Friday. The Nepal Police Headquarters said that they were arrested from Bhadrapur in Jhapa. 

Prasain and Khadka were detained and investigated by the bench of Kathmandu District Court Judge Shishirraj Dhakal. According to the information officer of the district court, Deepak Kumar Shrestha, the court has also ordered the police to consult a doctor because Prasai is a cancer patient. 

2 people including a journalist were killed when the Rajawadi demonstration turned violent in Tinkune. Dozens of people were injured by police and protesters. Among the injured, 20 people were hit by police bullets and shrapnel. Among them, Ramhari (Rhythm) of Kavre, who was shot in the arm, is being treated at Shrestha's B&B Hospital, Revika Khatri of Udaipur, who was shot in the right thigh, is being treated at the Civil Hospital, Dilli Prasad Luintel of Bhojpur, who was shot in the stomach, and Shambhu Darzi, who was shot in the elbow, are being treated at the Trauma Hospital. 

Rajawadi's arson and vandalism caused damage to 69 vehicles including 7 police vehicles, 10 of other government offices, 1 of institutes, 18 private ones, 27 four-wheelers without number and 6 two-wheelers. According to police data, protesters damaged 40 structures, including 6 private houses, 29 private institutions, 3 government offices, and 2 political party offices. 

Concluding that Nike Prasai was the main culprit of the violent incident, the cabinet directed the home administration to arrest him immediately. In the meantime, Prasain was releasing a video through Facebook saying that he was in Kathmandu. But after 14 days he was arrested in India.

Kathmandu Police is already investigating 82 people including MP Dhaval Shamsher Jabara, RPP Senior Vice President Rabindra Mishra regarding the incident. They are being investigated for criminal nuisance, organized crime. Among them, 22 people including Rana and Mishra are being investigated for crimes against the state. The police informed that 8 of them were released in public.
