The road will be closed for 4 hours every day from Wednesday on the Narayanadh-Butbal road section under East West Mahendra Highway for road widening work.
According to District Police Chief Yadav Dhakal, from today to Chait 31st, road expansion will be done by stopping vehicles from 11 am to 3 pm. He informed that arrangements have been made to close the road from 11 pm to 5 am from next Baisakh 1 to 15 days.
During the highway widening, eastbound vehicles will be stopped at Dumkibas, Arunkhola, Chormara and westbound vehicles will be stopped at Bardghat.
The police has requested that vehicles going east-west should use corridor road (alternative road) from Ghandakot to Kaligand.
Butwal-Narayangadh road widening work is going on . The Daunne Pahad road under the Butwal-Narayangadh road section under the Mahendra Highway is 14 km long . More than 18,000 vehicles travel there daily. It takes more than 3 hours to cross the 14 km road due to the demolition of the road to widen Ramjarg. When the highway is dirty, there are jams for hours.
