On the second day of counting of votes for the 27th central working committee of Nepal Bar Association, the umbrella organization of legal practitioners, senior advocate Vijay Prasad Mishra has maintained his lead as the president.

According to the results so far, Mishra has secured 933 votes, while his closest rival, senior advocate Raman Kumar Shrestha from the professional lawyers' group, has secured 556.

Elections were held on Saturday for the selection of new leadership. Out of 9,957 voters, 80 percent of the votes were cast to elect the new working committee of the bar. Voting was held in a total of 36 polling stations in Kathmandu and outside. Senior advocate Vijay Prasad Mishra from broad democratic, progressive, professional, nationalistic and inclusive legal practitioners group and senior advocate Raman Kumar Shrestha from professional legal practitioners group are competing for the new leadership of the bar.

In Senior Advocate Mishra's group, Senior Advocate Kedar Prasad Koirala is the General Secretary, while in Senior Advocate Shrestha's group, Advocate Yagyamani Neupane is the candidate for the General Secretary post. The counting of votes started at 8 am. In which broad democratic,  Progressive, professional, nationalistic and inclusive lawyers group has continued to lead the candidates for other positions including the chairman.
