The legitimate demands of teachers are met: Prime Minister Oli

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government will address the demands of the protesting teachers. At the Himalayan dialogue held in Kathmandu on Monday, Prime Minister Oli said that the legitimate demands of the teachers will be met.

Prime Minister Oli's statement came while the teachers were protesting in Kathmandu. He also said that the incidents of protests, arson and vandalism show that the country is still in transition. He also said that there was a lack of sincerity towards the constitution saying that there were contradictions in different groups of ideas.

The Prime Minister has also called upon the teachers who have been protesting recently to come to the talks. "Now the teachers' movement is going on, I don't know why they are going on". I am the Prime Minister. I have said, when someone comes with a legitimate demand, there is no need to protest, we will give a solution to it . We are ready to address it. There is no need to suffer, there is no need to go and sleep on the streets,' said the Prime Minister, 'Let's talk and solve it.' Why are they suffering? They should come for a conversation . We handle the demand in a reasonable manner . We are in a period of transition and there are some elements of arson, murder, violence and vandalism. We have heard that some people say that they do not accept the law and the constitution.'
