The Madhesh-centric party is again on the front line

The Madhesh-centric parties, which have always suffered from division, have come closer after the ruling party Congress and UML debated the need to amend the electoral system and reduce the number of parties in the parliament by increasing the threshold. Seven parties, which have been doing politics on the issue of Madhesi, Tharu and tribals, announced the 'Union Democratic Front' on Thursday.

LoSP led by Mahanth Thakur, Jaspa Nepal led by Upendra Yadav, Rashtriya Mukti Morcha led by Rajendra Mahato, Janamat led by CK Raut, Janata Pragatisheel led by Hridayesh Tripathi, Civil Immunity led by Resham Chaudhary and Tamalopa led by Vrishesh Chandra Lal have blocked the front.

Jaspa led by Ashok Rai, which split from the party led by Upendra Yadav, has not joined the front. Chairman of Rashtriya Mukti Morcha Mahato said that they have formed a front to fight as one because the regressive forces have been encouraged and the achievement is in danger. "The achievements of federalism and proportional inclusive representation are being attacked," he said, "we have no choice but to unite." The front was formed after everyone felt the same.

He said that the need for the front was felt to fight against the unconstitutional attempt to change the constitution to a two-party system against the spirit of the constitution.

When the constitution was being promulgated in 2072, the United Democratic Madhesi Front protested with demands including the delimitation of provinces, ensuring proportional and inclusive representation in all parts of the state. At that time, most of the parties that joined the Morcha were integrated. But later they split again. In the general election of 2079, the Madhesh-centric party has been added after public opinion also came into electoral politics.

Janata Pragatisheel Party President Tripathi said that the parties that were in the front earlier went through the process of party integration, so the need for a long-term front was not felt. "Parties that were united are getting divided again. The influence and role also kept shrinking," he said. "On the other hand, more achievements are here and there. There is no option to come together after seeing the situation of losing even the few achievements that have been achieved.'

The front declared on Thursday has made public 26 objectives and commitments. Defense and strengthening of the federal democratic republic, demarcation of provinces based on strength and identity, empowered provinces, local levels within the jurisdiction of the province, including local levels have been raised by Sabal Morcha. The Morcha is committed to keep trying to amend the constitution in a timely manner so that all communities can take ownership, to raise the voice of proportionality, inclusion and social justice, and to carry out pressure programs against distortions such as corruption and middlemanship.

The Morcha has said that it will strengthen the political demand for proportional election system and representation based on population in the House of Representatives and the National Assembly. The Morcha demands that political and constitutional appointments should be made on the basis of merit, contribution, experience and proportional inclusion principles, not on the basis of party affiliation. The front has raised the demand that the monolingual policy and behavior should be ended and a multilingual policy should be implemented, the agreements made in the past should be implemented, and the cases brought in the movement should be withdrawn.

The front has also brought forward the issue of the impact of climate change. There are also demands that the budget should be distributed in the development, construction and service sectors based on the human development index and population, illegal deforestation, stone and sand mining should be stopped. There is also the issue of bringing a program to protect the Terai region from desertification, arranging irrigation, fertilizers, sowing, agricultural insurance, support price and subsidized loans.

For the first time in 2064, the Madhesi People's Rights Forum, Tamalopa and Sadbhavana formed the Madhesi Morcha. Various parties joined and left several times. After the difference of opinion on who will lead the front this time, the parties have reached an agreement to organize the meeting in turn and the organizing party will preside over that day. The

front has made a 15-point code of conduct. It is said that the meeting of the front will be held in the office of all the constituent parties or in a place where the parliamentary party or parties are convenient. Decisions are made on the basis of consensus and the code of conduct is not to publicly criticize or criticize each other. It is said that the status of the parties affiliated to the front will be the same.

'Federal democratic republic is our commitment'

The Madhesh-centric party is again on the front line Hridayesh Tripathi, President, Janata Pragatisheel

After nearly a decade, why did you need a front?

was being attempted for a long time. Only the results are visible now. There is only one kind of artificial polarization going on in the country. The meeting of Congress and UML is also an example of that. It has become a topic of discussion as a challenge to another republic. In particular, the issues of tribals, tribes, Madhesi, women, Dalits and Tharu or institutional discrimination are not discussed. Attempts are being made to divert from these agendas. The front is needed to bring it to the right place.  What is the main purpose of the

front?

to stop the unnatural polarization in the country. And, to protect and strengthen the agenda of the Federal Democratic Republic and the achievements of various movements.

Lately, royalist organizations have become active. The king is talking about returning. How does your front take it?

Federal Democratic Republic is our commitment. All the seven parties affiliated to the front are determined and committed to it. We don't have anything below that. So it makes the concept of front very clear.

There is a coalition government of two major parties in the country. How do you evaluate the functioning of the government?

The government is gradually failing on every front. People are disappointed. Negative commentary has been prepared for political parties and leaders. This situation has brought liquidity. Liquidity can lead to risk and risk can lead to accidents.

And some of the parties affiliated to the front are in the government and some are in the opposition, how can harmony be achieved?

It doesn't matter. The 26-point commitment of the front is the common opinion of all those who are in the government, in the opposition or outside the parliament. There is a uniformity to it all.

Ashok Rai's participation in the government didn't seem stuck in the Janata Samajwadi Party Front? What could be the reason?

Initially we ran a discussion for 'Loose Alliances'. He was with them for that. They were of the opinion that we should stay in a 'loose alliance' rather than in the front. However, after most of the parties agreed to form a front, they could not come to the front immediately. But, I believe. come We are together again in terms of 'Loose Alliances'.  Who will lead the

front? Is there a problem between the parties?

no. There is no such dispute or discussion. There is no leader in the front. We have practiced the front a lot. The leader of the party. Where does the meeting of the front take place? He presides over the meeting. Media combination is done by him. He arranges the lunch. Take turns. It lacks leadership skills.

why Mahanth Thakur and Resham Chaudhary were absent from the Morcha announcement stage?

Resham Chaudhary's party is holding a meeting in West Terai. He sent a representative. Mahanth Thakurji could not come due to illness. has signed the commitment letter.

The royalist organization/party, the opposition Samajwadi Morcha, has come to the streets. The party in government has tried to form a republican front. At that time you have also joined the front. Blockade everywhere? What was the result?

I said earlier that whatever unnatural work was being done, we were united to stop it. An attempt is being made to divide the country by commenting on republicanism and monarchy. Issues such as federalism, representation of proportional inclusion are becoming at risk. In that regard, the issue does not arise in anyone's meeting or front.

seems to be depreciating rather than enriching the achievements. It is evident from their recent expressions and behavior that those who promulgated the constitution took it there. Look at representation in Parliament through the proportional system. It is not brought for leaders-wives or contractors. It is brought for the weak side. There is a tendency to abuse oneself and blame the system. A front has been made to tear all that down.

Aren't you forced to block the front because of the debate that the country should go to a two-party system?

Why should we be afraid of them? We have already seen their feet. It has been seen since 2048. He has done such business many times. Now you have met. What should not be done. An ordinance could not be passed. Therefore, it proves how much strength and power he has.
