National Assembly member Dr. Anjan Shakya represented Nepal on behalf of the Asia-Pacific region in the Sustainable Development Standing Committee of the Inter-Legislative Union (IPU).

She represented Nepal at the conference held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. He was also nominated from Maldives and Iran. Shakya has won after beating both the candidates .

The team including Speaker Devraj Ghimire is now in Uzbekistan. Speaker Ghimire wrote a letter to Speakers of 36 countries in the Standing Committee on Sustainable Development of IPU, saying that Shakya has gained deep experience in the field of sustainable development and expects Shakya to play a strong role on behalf of Nepal on the international stage, asking for Shakya's support.

A delegation including Speaker Ghimire and MP Dr. Shakya has reached Uzbekistan's capital Tashkent to participate in the 150th annual meeting of the Inter-Legislative Association and the fourth summit of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network. Shakya presented her candidacy on behalf of the Asia-Pacific region in the Sustainable Development Standing Committee.

Nepal has announced its presence on this platform for the first time . Shakya said that she felt that along with her victory, it helped to increase Nepal's reputation on the international stage. "Speaker wrote a letter and asked for my support," Shakya said, "I also personally asked for my support." The efforts of all of us achieved success.' 

MP Shakya is a member of the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the National Assembly and the Coordinator of the Sustainable Development Sub-Committee of the same committee. Under his leadership, "Study report on the upgrading of Nepal from a least developed country to a developing country-2081" report was prepared and submitted to the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the National Assembly.
