An international conference and exhibition has started in Kathmandu with the aim of promoting the latest technology in the field of fire risk reduction and electrical safety. Experts from 14 countries are participating in the international conference organized by the Asia Pacific Security Association (APSA).
'Fire Safety and Electronic Security International Conference' has started from Sunday. Experts from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam are participating in the two-day conference.
Forest and Environment Minister Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri said that there has been a lot of damage to forests and various structures in Nepal due to fire and efforts are being made to prevent the problem through modern technology. "The government of Nepal has given importance to the risk of fire, but the government has no other option than fire engines," he said. Many initiatives are being taken by the government of Nepal, the local government, and the state government to reduce the risk.
Every year there is a large loss of people's wealth due to recurring fire incidents in Nepal and such conferences are necessary and effective, said Apsa President Sunil Kumar Shrestha. According to the director of the program, Suresh Shrestha, the conference will play an important role in improving Nepal's security policy. Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Urban Development, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepali Army, 753 local level representatives, private sector entrepreneurs and businessmen and security and fire mitigation experts are present at the
conference.
