Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that in his meeting with his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, he expressed his determination to make the relationship between Nepal and India more comprehensive, detailed and strengthened.
After his official visit to Thailand and participation in the 6th Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) and his return to the country, he said that the meeting with his counterpart was very fruitful and that he was happy.
'There may be some minor problems in the neighborhood, this time we have made a deep understanding that if that happens, we will communicate with each other and resolve them', Prime Minister Oli said to media inquiries, 'This meeting was fruitful and I am happy, I have found that he (Modi) is also happy from his conversation.'
Prime Minister Oli informed that in his meeting with his Indian counterpart, there were discussions regarding cooperation in various fields of mutual cooperation. He said, 'During the meeting, there were discussions on matters of bilateral mutual interest, including the areas of investment and trade, multi-purpose Pancheshwar project, and irrigation from Mahakali in Dodhara Chandni.'
Prime Minister Oli informed that the Indian Prime Minister will not come to the Everest dialogue organized by Nepal and said that there will be high-level participation from India in the event. 'Modiji does not want to come, because he has already decided to go to Europe at that time, so he cannot come here, but India is represented at a good level.'
In a different context, Prime Minister Oli said that the government will positively accept and address the issues raised by the protesting teachers. He said, 'They believe that the government listens, that's why they came, we also talk, the government also listens to them.'
He assured that the matter of what can be done and how it should be done in relation to the demands made by the teacher will be resolved by sitting and discussing with each other. "Most of them do not suffer from this, the government does not have a negative view, why does it have to?", he said, "The problems of the teachers will be solved." He informed that the government is carrying out an impartial investigation into the incident that took place in Tinkune on 15th Chait.
