Ravi Lamichhane, the President of RSWP and then Managing Director of Gorkha Media Network, who was arrested in Kathmandu, has been taken to Bhairahawa by the police. The police recently took Lamichhane directly from Bhairahawa Airport to District Police Office Rupandehi.
After the High Court Tulsipur Butwal bench ordered him to be detained on Friday in a cooperative fraud case, the police arrested Lamichhane from Kathmandu on Friday night and took him to Bhairahawa on a Yeti Airlines plane this morning.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Ranjit Singh Rathore has informed that Lamichhane will be kept in the custody of District Police Office Rupandehi on Saturday and Sunday. 'Saturday and Sunday are public holidays, first you have to submit to the court, then you will be sent to jail,' he said, 'now we will keep you in police custody for two days.'
