Six people sentenced to life imprisonment in the Sushil Garbuja murder case

District Court Myagdi convicted six people in the case related to the murder of Sushil Garbuja in Beni Bazaar a year ago and sentenced them to life imprisonment.

Judge Prakash Prasad Pandit's bench sentenced six people to life imprisonment (all of them at the rate of 25 years) and set a hearing on March 27 to determine the punishment of nine more people who were found to be accomplices in the incident. 21-year-old Garbuja of Raghuganga Rural Municipality-1 Beg House and Beni Municipality-8 Pipalchowk was stabbed to death on the evening of 11th January 2080 at Beni-8 New Road. 

District Court Information Officer Dilliraj Paudel informed that 23-year-old Shankar Gharti of Dhawalagiri rural municipality-4, 22-year-old Amrit Purja, 24-year-old Safal Khatri of Beni-5, changed names 43 (d), 43 (d) and 43 (m) have been sentenced to jail. 

Utsav Pun of Raghuganga-7 Chimkhola, Manish Tilija, Sanjan Khatri of Ward No. 2, Praveen Jisi of Mangla Rural Municipality-2, Savin Rai of Beni-9, Sohan Baruwal of Jaljala Rural Municipality-3 Parvat, changed names 43 (T), 43 (N) and 43 (F) said that the punishment will be determined by the hearing on March 27. 

Children's law stipulates that 14- to 16-year-olds will be given a half sentence and 16- to 18-year-olds will be given a one-third sentence. He mentioned that because he is under 16 years of age, 43 (D) should serve 16 years, 10 months and 7 days of imprisonment. According to him, 43 (d) and 43 (m) aged between fourteen and 16 years will have to serve 12 years and six months. 

On February 10, 2008, the court ordered eight of the 13 adults arrested by the police in the case of Sushil's murder to be sent to prison and five minors to the correctional facility.
