A call from the Ministry of Culture to list intangible cultural heritage

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has invited applications for listing intangible cultural heritage.

According to section 9 of Intangible Cultural Heritage (Listing and Management) Procedure, 2081, individuals, communities or organizations who want to list are invited to apply to the Culture Division by attaching seven types of documents and evidence, said Bhishma Baskota, Archeology Officer of the Ministry.

He said that the application for heritage listing should be submitted by the end of Baisakh. With the application, the complete description of the heritage, consent of the concerned person, group or community for listing, necessary details related to generational transfer, recommendation of the relevant local level, proof of the listing at the local level should be attached along with the application, according to the Ministry. Archeology officer Baskota said that since the procedure is kept on the website of the ministry, it can be viewed from there.
