The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has called the protesting teachers for talks. Spokesperson of the Ministry, Shiv Kumar Sapkota, issued a statement today and asked the Nepal Teachers' Federation to leave the protest and find a solution to the problem through dialogue.

"Since the government of Nepal is ready to have a relevant discussion with the teaching community again and build a common opinion, we warmly welcome the representatives of education and employees to the ministry," he said. 

The bill, 2080 to amend and unify the law on school education, has been submitted to the House of Representatives and is in the process of discussion. It is said that the ministry has drawn attention to the issue that has been drawing attention from teachers and staff working in public schools for some time, demanding that it be passed as soon as possible. Spokesman Sapkota has mentioned that the Ministry is always positive to send a collective message for the School Education Bill as it is awaiting approval.

'The Ministry is always positive about the advocacy, concern and solidarity of the entire teaching community in order to create an environment for passing the School Education Bill on time,' Spokesman Sapkota said, 'Since the draft of the Bill has been prepared through reasonable discussion and consultation with the representatives of the teaching community, it is natural to expect that the School Education Bill will be passed soon and the teachers and staff are interested in this matter.'

He stated that the bill will be submitted to the parliament, discussed and approved in the legislative process. The teachers have started a street movement in Kathmandu to get the school education bill passed early yesterday under the leadership of the teachers union.  Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has said that the school education bill will be finalized as soon as possible. 

On Thursday, Acting Prime Minister Prakashman Singh, Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar, Education, Science and Technology Minister Vidya Bhattarai along with teachers' federation held a meeting at Singhdarbar, it was agreed that the bill will be finalized quickly by addressing the teachers' demands. The Home Minister said that the bill is currently under discussion in the relevant committee of the Federal Parliament House of Representatives and the government is positive about finalizing the bill quickly to address the teachers' demands.
