6 days extension against 41 people including Mishra and Rana

Kathmandu District Court has extended the deadline of 6 days against 41 people, including RPP Senior Vice President Ravindra Mishra and General Minister Dhavalshamsher Rana, who were arrested for their involvement in the violent demonstration of Rajawadi last Friday.

District Judge Dhakaram Poudel's bench ordered on Wednesday to keep them in custody for six more days for investigation. According to Shrestedar Tirtharaj Bhattarai of Kathmandu District Court, those arrested on Tuesday have been allowed to be detained for seven days.   

The court allowed them to be detained for 5 days for the first time. According to the police, 11 people, including Rana and Mishra, are being investigated for crimes against the state, criminal nuisance and organized crime. Apart from them, Durga Prasai's aide Manindra Rajbhandari of Lamjung, Gopal Malla of Rupandehi, Harihar Chaulagai of Jumla, Ramkumar Dhimal, Santosh Chaudhary of Sunsari, Pashupati Khadka of Kathmandu, Vishnu Parajuli of Tanahun, Pushkar Khatiwada of Jhapa and Gopikrishna Khadka have been investigated in the crime.

Similarly, Dev Bahadur Thapa Magar of Syangja, Raj Thakur of Rautahat, famous Malla of Kathmandu, Bikas Oli of Rukum, Sudarshan Thapa of Mahottari, Rajkumar Rai of Khotang and Bhagwati Rokka will be investigated for criminal nuisance and organized crime offences, spokesperson Bohra informed.

Similarly, Naveen Dhakal of Udaipur, Alok Parajuli of Saptari, Irfan Khan of Rautahat, Ganesh Bahadur Gurung of Sindhupalchok, Vivek Khanal of Kavrepalanchok, Upendra Shah of Bara, Krishna Kumar Basnet of Makwanpur, Jeevan Puri of Chitwan, Ganesh Pyakurel of Kailali, Sarun Thapa of Dolakha, Shravan Lama of Kathmandu, Stan Lama of Ramechhap, Sushila Kumal of Nuwakot, Nirmala Karki of Sindhupalchok, Elisa Rai of Sunsari, Bhavindra BC of Surkhet, Ashish Tamang of Dhading, Leela Rana of Gulmi, Chitramaya Basnet of Sindhuli and Sasmita Baral will also be investigated.

Neerajan Giri of Bajhang, Predha Bahadur of Dolakha, Manish Kumar Shahi of Kalikot have also been extended for investigation. Although the police arrested 112 people involved in the violent demonstration, the police released 81 people, including Swagat Nepal, after general questioning. 

Two people were killed and 129 people including 55 policemen, 22 armed policemen and 52 protesters were injured when the Rajawadi demonstration took a violent form in Tinkune. Among the injured, 6 policemen, 1 armed police and 17 protesters are undergoing treatment.
