Prakashmani Paudel, the newly appointed Nepali Ambassador to Portugal, has submitted the certificate of appointment to President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

During a ceremony held on Monday at the Belem Palace, the presidential building in Lisbon, Ambassador Poudel presented his certificate of appointment to President Sousa. Ambassador Paudel had a courtesy meeting with the President after handing over the credentials. The Nepali Embassy in Lisbon has informed that on this occasion, there was a discussion between them about making the bilateral relations between Nepal and Portugal more harmonious and enhancing mutual interests and cooperation. 

President Sousa congratulated Ambassador Paudel on the occasion and wished him a successful tenure. During the meeting, the President was requested to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries, trade, tourism and the establishment of Portuguese embassy in Nepal. 

Portuguese Minister of State for Foreign Affairs/Assistant Minister Nuno Sampaio, Secretary General of the Foreign Affairs Secretariat Francisco Ribeiro Teles, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador's wife Rupa Paudel, Second Secretary of the Embassy Rambabu Nepal and others were present at the ceremony, according to the embassy.

Paudel, who was appointed as the ambassador of Portugal last November, came to Portugal on February 22 to take charge.
