The recommendation committee formed for the selection of officials of the commission related to transitional justice has started its work. Dr. Leeli Thapa, a member and spokesperson of the recommendation committee, informed that the work had started after the full meeting of the committee on Sunday.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers on Chait 11 formed the recommendation committee. According to subsection 3 of section 3 of the Investigation, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act, 2071, the recommendation committee has been formed. The first meeting of the
recommendation committee has been held and the committee has started its work and said that the necessary work will be completed within the specified two months. The
recommendation committee has received the responsibility of recommending the appointment of the chairperson and members of the Commission of Inquiry into Disappeared Persons and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. A recommendation committee was formed under the leadership of former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Omprakash Mishra. Former Attorney General Khammahadur Khati, Arjun Karki and Stella Tamang are members of the
committee. Similarly, on behalf of the National Human Rights Commission, Dr. Leeli Thapa has been given the responsibility as a member.
