Senior journalist and politician Kamal Koirala was cremated today. He was cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat according to Vedic tradition. Journalists of various media houses, party leaders, diplomats, relatives and well-wishers paid tributes in the program.
Koirala, the son of the late Prime Minister Matrikaprasad Koirala, was a senior writer and columnist, former MP and ambassador. 87-year-old Koirala died during treatment at KMC Hospital in Sinamangal last night. He has one son and one daughter.
The mortal body of Koirala, who is also the leader of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Socialist), was kept at the party central office in Aloknagar in the afternoon.
