The Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission has appealed to the Supreme Court on Sunday against a decision made by a special court.
The Commission appealed to the Supreme Court after the decision of the Special Court was not satisfied in the case filed by the Commission against seven persons including Balram Thapa, the then Program Director of Animal Market Promotion Directorate, Harihar Bhavan, Lalitpur.
Director Thapa, Accounts Officer Ram Prasad Bajgai, Senior Veterinarian Pooja Sharma, filed a special case against the defendants on charges of corruption worth Rs 47 lakh 37 thousand six hundred and twenty-nine
A case was filed against them in accordance with Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059, demanding prison sentence and fine as per the provisions of the Act, 2059, for paying more than the work in the construction of Amfuwa cattle market in Jirikhimti Majhagaon, Myanglung Municipality-5, Tehrathum. In the case filed by the
commission, the Special Court decided on 1st February 2080 and gave a partial acquittal. Rajendra Kumar Poudel, the spokesperson of the Commission, informed that the decision of the Special Court was appealed to the Supreme Court after it was not satisfied.
