Prasain 'Commander' after meeting with Gyanendra Shah

After Durga Prasai, who is leading the royalist movement, returned from a two-hour meeting with former king Gyanendra Shah on Thursday, a new equation was suddenly formed for the movement. On Friday, the royalists became fierce and violent after the Prussians provoked the security personnel by breaking the restricted area and driving their cars.

Prasai had announced the decisive movement on Chait 15 on Chait 2. Other royalists were saying that they could not proceed with him. But after the meeting between Prasain and Shah on Thursday, other royalists also announced that they would support the movement.

The United People's Movement Committee for the restoration of the monarchy, formed on Chait 4 under the leadership of former Panch Navraj Subedi, announced Prasai as the commander of the people's movement committee on Thursday after the meeting. The committee also announced that it has adopted the movement called by Prasain. RPRPA led by Rajendra Lingden and RPRPA Nepal led by Kamal Thapa also expressed their support and called upon the workers to participate.

Prasain, who was made the commander of the movement by Purvaraja, is a person who has been arrested twice this year for offenses such as cyber crime, insults, organized crime. He was arrested on October 6 for cyber crime and defamation and was released on October 15 after posting bail as per the order of Kathmandu District Court. While the case was pending in the court, Prasai was arrested again on November 4 on charges of organized crime, racketeering, defamation, etc. At that time, he was freed from the Supreme Court's order by filing a petition for habeas corpus.

The government separated the three-cornered area from the royalists because they were said to be doing a peaceful protest. Prasai's activities turned Friday's protest violent. The banner of the three-cornered platform had pictures of Purvaraja and Prasain. Instead of going to the public stage, the focus seemed to be on making the movement violent. Driving himself, he proceeded towards Baneshwar, which had been declared a restricted area. He ran over a policeman who was standing on the road with a fence. It seemed that he wanted a confrontation with the police, who was walking with a live-action team inside the car.

Then the movement turned violent. When the excited royalists started attacking, the police fired tear gas in defense. Prasai and his supporters clashed with the police when they were gathering on the stage of the meeting held inside the Tinkune Maidan.

The RPP, which participated in the movement called by Prasai, made public the decision that it could not join with Prasai only a week ago, and made it public at the party meeting. RPPA Chairman Lingden claimed that RPPA was not involved in the violent activities that took place during the protest. "We are in favor of peaceful demonstrations, our people are not involved in violent demonstrations," he told Kantipur, "the incident should be investigated, it will become clear after the investigation." He formed the 'Civil Defense Force' (PDF) on Wednesday with a central office in the Buddhist settlement.

RPP Nepal President Kamal Thapa, who expressed moral support and called for participation in the movement called by the British-led Citizen Rescue Campaign, also called vandalism and arson as reprehensible. On social media, he has claimed that the situation arose due to government repression. Thapa called on Thursday through social media to 'Let's go to Tinkune on Chait 15'. From Keshar Bahadur Bista, president of the former Panch Rashtriya Shakti Nepal, several royalists called to support Prasai.

Leaders including Lingden, Thapa and Bista, who refused to sit in the Subedi-led committee formed on 4th Chait under the leadership of Prasai, came to support Prasai the day before the movement. After the meeting with Shah, Prasain said, "This battle must be won by King and Durga Prasain, we will fight as one, now we will move forward, fight together, die together". The member secretary of the

committee, RPP senior vice president Ravindra Mishra claims that the tear gas fired by the police on the stage when the program was about to start increased the excitement. "Navrajji and I were in the same vehicle, as soon as we got off the vehicle and went to the stage, tear gas was fired on the stage where 87-year-old Navraj Subedi was sitting," he said, "After the tear gas was fired, excitement increased there. We were limited to a few prominent people. There was an intrusion in the protest, the government should take the responsibility for whatever loss of money has been caused.'' Mentioning that they had a peaceful protest, he said that the protestors are not responsible for the incident. Committee coordinator Subedi also said that the situation has worsened due to the police intervention.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has said that the organizers of the demonstration are responsible for making the movement violent and criminal. The ministry issued a statement saying that those involved in inhumane and illegal activities will be brought to justice.
