The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has fined former King Gyanendra Shah 7 lakh 93 thousand rupees for causing damage to the physical structure and littering the roads and road boxes during the event organized on Friday 15th of Chait.

The metropolis has informed that a penalty letter has been sent to Shah on Saturday. ''The letter written by the metropolis says, 'You are requested to pay a fine of one lakh rupees in accordance with the Garbage Management Act, 2077 and the Economic Act of Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality, 2081, as per the directives, for polluting the environment by haphazardly littering the roads and street bins of the Sinamangal area from the event organized in the metropolitan ward number 32 Tinkune.' 

In addition, the metropolis imposed a fine of 40,000 rupees for vandalizing trees, plants, and railings in the area and 23,000 rupees for vandalizing Tinkune Island on the same day. 

Similarly, the metropolis imposed a fine of one lakh rupees for polluting the environment by polluting the streets and roadside bins of Balkumari area, and one lakh rupees for littering the roads and roadside bins of the herb area.

"As soon as the news was received that a building in that area was set on fire from a program organized in Three Kune, fire fighters were deployed along with fire extinguishers from the Metropolis's New Road fire department and the people who came to the program were extinguished while controlling the fire," the letter says.

From the same program, a fine of one/one lakh rupees was imposed on the road and street bins of Mahadevasthan, Koteshwar area. 

Likewise, Mahaganar has made it clear that the arson of private buildings and damage to private property during the Three Corners movement is not within the jurisdiction of the metropolis.
