The state government is going to build the house of Dalit Deepak Malik, whose house was demolished in the name of untouchability in the name of Maha Yagya in Aurhi Rural Municipality-5 of Siraha. His house will be built through Madan Bhandari housing program. The house, which will be built at a cost of 560,000 by the Madhesh government, will have two rooms, a kitchen and a toilet.

Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh has said that he has instructed the relevant agencies to start construction of houses within a week.

Earlier on Tuesday, Deepak along with Dalit leaders went to Janakpur to meet Chief Minister Singh demanding housing arrangements. "I had promised to build a house as soon as the victim family came to me," Chief Minister Singh told Kantipur, "Now the work will start within a week."

Village chairman Shivji Yadav, former ward president Dilip Yadav and Bajrangi Baba, the organizer of the Maha Yagya, used dozers to demolish Malik's house on February 10 saying that if Dalits live and come around in the vicinity of the Maha Yagya, the place will become impure. The soil was dug up to a depth of one and a half feet and the soil was thrown there because even the place where the house was called would be impure. The victim Malik family is living in a secluded hut by the river 500 meters away. There is no water or electricity.

After the news about the illegal activities and excesses of the Dalit family by demolishing their houses, the village president and the former ward president were arrested and are in police custody during the investigation. Bajrangi Baba involved in the incident has not yet been arrested by the police. The police have investigated the crimes of caste discrimination and untouchability against the perpetrators and submitted the report to the public prosecutor's office.

There is a legal system of imprisonment for 3 months to 3 years and a fine of 50,000 to 2 lakh rupees for racial untouchability. The police completed the investigation within 6 days and submitted the report to the public prosecutor on Thursday. District Attorney Rajendra Basnet informed that the research report is being studied. After the public prosecutor files the indictment, there will be a hearing in the district court.

As a representative of the state government, on Thursday, members of the state assembly, Sanjay Kumar Yadav, Jivachidevi Yadav and others reached the victim Malik's hut. Yadav, a member of the Provincial Assembly, said that after sitting with the local people's representatives and leaders, it was decided to allocate 7 dhur of land and build a house in the place where it has been moved. He informed that he will recommend the house to the Infrastructure Development Office Siraha on Friday and after that the technician will come and start the construction of the house.  He says that efforts are also being made to provide water and electricity to the families of

victims. Yadav said that this support of the state government is purely for the victims and it has nothing to do with the legal proceedings currently underway against those involved in the demolition of the victim's house. "Criminals will definitely be punished, if the state government builds a house, it cannot be assumed that the victims got justice," he said.
