The Supreme Court has issued a show cause order on the writ of outgoing Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising. A single bench of Judge Abdul Aziz Muslim issued a show cause order while hearing the appeal.
Ghising filed a writ petition demanding a final order against the government's decision to remove him from the post of executive director of the authority. Today, the court has called both sides for a discussion on whether or not to issue an interim order, demanding a written answer on Chait 17. The
command says, 'What happened to this ? Why should the order not be issued as per the request of the petitioner? If there is any basis, reason and proof that the order as requested should not be issued, please submit a written response through the Attorney General's Office or through your legal representative within 15 days from the date of service of the deadline notice with all the evidence.'
With four months remaining in his tenure, Ghising was dismissed from the post of Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority and Hitendradev Shakya was appointed at the last Monday's cabinet meeting.
