Vandalism, violence and anarchy condemned: Congress

Condemning vandalism, violence and anarchy, the Congress has asked to proceed on the path of peace and the constitution. Congress General Minister Gagan Thapa and Vishwa Prakash Sharma have issued a statement condemning the violent incident committed by the royalists.

"Nepali Congress always respects the constitutional right to protest and peaceful demonstration. But today, violent incidents have taken place in some places including Tinkunye of the capital in the name of peaceful demonstration. Thapa and Sharma said, "The Nepali Congress has taken seriously the vandalism and arson of people's homes, media houses, party offices, shopping malls, government offices, public vehicles, etc."

Noting that the resolution of many dissatisfactions among the citizens is possible within the current constitution, the Congress has stated that it is determined to keep the citizens' feelings in mind. "The alternative to democracy is a better democracy, any kind of monarchy cannot be a worthwhile option for conscious Nepalis of the twenty-first century." "The people who are inciting violence and joining the violence are urged to bring strict legal action immediately," the statement said.
