The National Human Rights Commission has appealed to the organizers to make the various demonstrations on Friday peaceful. The commission issued a press release on Thursday and appealed to the Samajwadi Front and the monarchist groups to make the demonstration peaceful.
The commission has expressed interest in the situation that may arise in the event that both sides face each other during the exhibition, which may add challenges to peace and security. On Thursday, the commission discussed security arrangements in the valley with the Chief District Officer of Kathmandu and Lalitpur, the Chief of District Police and the representative of Human Rights Cell of Nepal Police. During the
discussion, the security officer has said that a security plan has been prepared in coordination with all the security agencies of the valley to manage the peace and security situation. Commission's President Tap Bahadur Magar has also instructed to organize peace and security and to embrace the values of human rights while arranging peace and security .
While exercising the right to freedom of thought and expression, the Commission has requested to be sensitive to the provisions mentioned in the country's constitution and national international laws, to be aware of the obstacles to the rights of others, and to make their demonstration activities peaceful. Likewise In addition, the Commission urges the government and security officials to be sensitive to human rights when arranging peace and security after assessing the situation.
