Dismissing the old Panchas, the businessman Durga Prasai got the leadership of the royalist movement. The Joint People's Movement Committee led by former Pancha Navraj Subedi and the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party Prasai, which has been doing politics to bring back the monarchy, have joined the movement called by him.

Led by Prasain, a Joint People's Movement Committee was formed on Chait 4 under the leadership of RPP leader Navraj Subedi, the former president of Rashtriya Panchayat. The committee was drawn into controversy with its formation. RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden stated that he is not in the said committee. The meeting of the performance committee of the RPPA decided not to lead the party under the leadership of a special person who would protest.

Even before the Subedi-led committee was formed, Prasain had announced that he would demonstrate in Kathmandu on March 15th. Subedi, who tried to become a common leader of the royalists, not only took ownership of the movement announced by Prasai alone, but also declared Prasai as the commander of the Jan Andolan Committee. In a statement issued by Subedi, it is said, 'The committee has adopted the movement that was announced to start from Chait 15th before the formation of the People's Movement Committee.' He said that from 17th of Chaitra, more protest programs will be announced on behalf of the committee.

Similarly, the RPP has also accepted Prasai's leadership by saying that they will participate in the movement called by him. Prasain has been criticizing RPP and its leaders from public forums. RPP spokesperson Mohan Kumar Shrestha has called upon the workers for active participation in the movement. He said that the RPP is committed to stand at the front of the movement by forming a front for cooperation, functional unity and a front with all those who have the same ideas and objectives.

The RPP itself has already announced that it will hold a meeting in the valley on 26th Chaitra for the establishment of a monarchy and a Hindu nation, and will hold a movement centered on Kathmandu from 7th Baisakh. The Kathmandu administration has asked to hold a meeting at Tinkune on Friday.
