Former Prime Minister and Chairman of Nepal Samajwadi Party (New Power) Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said that Nepal's economy and politics are in serious crisis.
In a program held in Ghorahi today, he said that sooner or later, if a directly elected presidential system can be established, the current problems will be solved.
Although the constitution established political rights, he said that the current form of government cannot work as expected, so a directly elected presidential system is now needed.
He said that if the executive is directly elected, economic development will be institutionalized in the country where the government will remain stable. "If the disease is not treated, the instability will increase," he said. That's why people will be disappointed.'
